In October 2023, the average import price for fresh or chilled carcasses and half-carcasses of bovine meat amounted to $3,800 per ton, with an increase of 2.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 3.9% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,027 per ton. From March 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($3,787 per ton), while the price for Egypt stood at $3,655 per ton.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (-0.1%).
