Nigeria prevails in exports structure, resulting at X square meters, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. It was distantly followed by Ghana (X square meters), comprising a X% share of total exports. Cabo Verde (X square meters), Togo (X square meters), Niger (X square meters), Gambia (X square meters) and Sierra Leone (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from Nigeria increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Togo (X%), Cabo Verde (X%), Gambia (X%), Sierra Leone (X%) and Niger (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Togo emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Ghana experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Nigeria (X p.p.), Togo (X p.p.) and Cabo Verde (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Ghana saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest safety glass supplying countries in Western Africa were Nigeria ($X), Togo ($X) and Niger ($X), together comprising X% of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X square meters in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.
