Moreover, Tanzania emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +91.9% from 2012-2022. Hungary experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Slovakia (-1.2%), Russia (-5.8%), Germany (-7.0%), Italy (-8.0%) and Ukraine (-12.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+36 p.p.), Tanzania (+7.2 p.p.), India (+3.9 p.p.), Croatia (+2.8 p.p.) and Hungary (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Ukraine saw its share reduced by -3.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($30M), Hungary ($19M) and India ($16M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 37% of global exports. Germany, Croatia, France, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia and Tanzania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 40%.

Tanzania, with a CAGR of +59.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country
