From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Portugal (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of fresh whole chicken to Spain, with a 51% share of total imports. Moreover, fresh whole chicken imports from Portugal exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by France (X tons), with a 7.6% share.
