Refined Soybean Oil Price in Ukraine (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average refined soybean oil export price amounted to $900 per ton, which is down by -8.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 5.6% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1,502 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($1,071 per ton), while the average price for exports to Greece ($860 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Refined Soybean Oil Price in Ukraine (CIF) - 2022
The average refined soybean oil import price stood at $4,696 per ton in 2022, which is down by -18.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 137% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $5,773 per ton in 2021, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($6,955 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($2,268 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+15.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Refined Soybean Oil Exports in Ukraine
In 2022, the amount of refined soybean oil and its fractions exported from Ukraine surged to 9K tons, growing by 78% on 2021. Overall, exports saw significant growth. In general, imports, however, posted a noticeable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 72%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 51 tons, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
In value terms, refined soybean oil imports contracted markedly to $116K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted prominent growth.
