Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,126 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,759 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($534 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+8.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
