The average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite import price stood at $1,004 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 4.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 24% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,149 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,350 per ton), while the price for Germany ($950 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+30.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
