The average preserved sauerkraut import price stood at $1,241 per ton in 2022, declining by -5.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a mild decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 62%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,102 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($2,010 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($525 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
