Potato Price in Estonia (CIF) - 2022
The average potato import price stood at $319 per ton in 2022, surging by 2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 19%. The import price peaked at $538 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($744 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($153 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average potato export price stood at $453 per ton in September 2023, dropping by -7% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a pronounced increase from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, potato export price increased by +4.8% against July 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 18% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $512 per ton. From July 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Finland ($778 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($366 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
