The exports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, dry bean exports fell sharply to $X in 2023. Overall, exports recorded a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Indonesia (X tons) was the main destination for dry bean exports from Singapore, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, dry bean exports to Indonesia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hong Kong SAR (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Malaysia (X tons), with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Indonesia stood at X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (X% per year) and Malaysia (X% per year).

In value terms, Indonesia ($X) remains the key foreign market for beans (dry) exports from Singapore, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a X% share.

As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Myanmar (X tons), China (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) were the main suppliers of dry bean imports to Singapore, with a combined X% share of total imports. Australia, India and Argentina lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
