Rice Production in MENA

In 2022, Turkey (X tons) represented the major exporter of rice, comprising X% of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Lebanon (X%). Israel (X tons), Egypt (X tons), Oman (X tons) and Palestine (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to rice exports from Turkey stood at X%. At the same time, Lebanon (X%), Palestine (X%) and Oman (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lebanon emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. The purchases of the seven major importers of rice, namely Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Djibouti, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Jordan (X tons), Oman (X tons), Algeria (X tons), Qatar (X tons), Libya (X tons) and Israel (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
