Exports by Country
Turkey dominates exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), creating a X% share of total exports. Egypt (X tons), Iran (X tons) and Jordan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to porphyry, basalt and quartzites exports from Turkey stood at X%. At the same time, Jordan (X%) and Syrian Arab Republic (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Jordan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Iran (X%) and Egypt (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Imports in MENA
For the fourth year in a row, MENA recorded growth in purchases abroad of porphyry, basalt and quartzites, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, porphyry, basalt and quartzites imports rose significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
The countries with the highest levels of porphyry, basalt and quartzites imports in 2022 were Saudi Arabia (X tons), Qatar (X tons), Algeria (X tons), Israel (X tons), Syrian Arab Republic (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons), together amounting to X% of total import. Iraq (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Oman (X%) and Yemen (X%).
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Algeria (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest porphyry, basalt and quartzites importing markets in MENA were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Yemen ($X) and Saudi Arabia ($X), together comprising X% of total imports.
Yemen, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import price indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade.
