Exports in MENA
In 2022, the amount of ghee exported in MENA surged to X tons, growing by X% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, ghee exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports posted a prominent expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The United Arab Emirates represented the main exporter of ghee in MENA, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Turkey (X tons), Egypt (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), together creating a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Iran (X tons) and Palestine (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to ghee exports from the United Arab Emirates stood at X%. At the same time, Turkey (X%), Iran (X%), Syrian Arab Republic (X%) and Saudi Arabia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Palestine (X%) and Egypt (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Export price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, ghee export price decreased by X% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by X%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, ghee imports soared to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Saudi Arabia (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Egypt (X tons) represented the major importer of ghee in MENA, generating X% of total import.
