In value terms, refined olive oil exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Argentina was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which resulted at X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Chile (X tons), mixing up a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Panama (X tons) and Peru (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Peru (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
In value terms, Argentina ($X), Chile ($X) and Panama ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Peru, which accounted for a further X%.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
Refined olive oil imports fell to X tons in 2022, declining by X% compared with the previous year. Total imports indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. Brazil was the largest importing country with an import of around X tons, which finished at X% of total imports. Mexico (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Guatemala (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total imports. El Salvador (X tons), Costa Rica (X tons), Belize (X tons), Peru (X tons), Ecuador (X tons), the Dominican Republic (X tons) and Panama (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
Brazil experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of refined olive oil. At the same time, Belize (X%), Peru (X%), Panama (X%), Guatemala (X%), El Salvador (X%), Mexico (X%), Costa Rica (X%) and Ecuador (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belize emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. The Dominican Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Mexico (X p.p.), Guatemala (X p.p.), Belize (X p.p.), El Salvador (X p.p.) and Peru (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Brazil saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Brazil ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported refined olive oil in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Guatemala, with a X% share.
In Brazil, refined olive oil imports increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mexico (X% per year) and Guatemala (X% per year).
