Ceramic tile exports reduced to X square meters in 2023, dropping by X% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X square meters in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ceramic tile exports fell to $X in 2023. Total exports indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2023: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2022, and then contracted in the following year.

Exports by Country

Mexico was the main exporter of ceramic tiles in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the volume of exports recording X square meters, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Brazil (X square meters) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Peru (X square meters). All these countries together took near X% share of total exports. Argentina (X square meters), Guatemala (X square meters) and Colombia (X square meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Mexico (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest ceramic tile supplying countries in Latin America and the Caribbean were Mexico ($X), Brazil ($X) and Peru ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports. Guatemala, Argentina and Colombia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

Guatemala, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2023, the export price in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to $X per square meter, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per square meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Guatemala ($X per square meter), while Argentina ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guatemala (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Ceramic Tile Imports

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

Ceramic tile imports shrank to X square meters in 2023, waning by X% on the previous year. In general, imports, however, saw a moderate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X square meters. From 2022 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, ceramic tile imports declined to $X in 2023. Total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2023: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports into Mexico increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, the Dominican Republic (X%), El Salvador (X%), Suriname (X%), Guatemala (X%), Honduras (X%), Peru (X%), Costa Rica (X%), Argentina (X%), Chile (X%), Ecuador (X%) and Uruguay (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Dominican Republic emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Colombia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Mexico, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Honduras increased by X, X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
