In value terms, ferro-silicon exports contracted dramatically to $X in 2023. In general, exports enjoyed a moderate increase. In 2023, Russia (X tons) was the largest exporter of ferro-silicon, generating X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Poland (X tons), committing a X% share of total exports. Slovakia (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

Imports in Eastern Europe

In 2023, purchases abroad of ferro-silicon decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2022, and then fell rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, ferro-silicon imports dropped dramatically to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, saw a notable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2022, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

Imports by Country

Poland (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the key importers of ferro-silicon in 2023, accounting for near X% and X% of total imports, respectively. The Czech Republic (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Slovakia (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total imports. The following importers - Romania (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.
