Waxes; Artificial, Prepared Price in Egypt (CIF) - 2023

The average waxes; artificial, prepared import price stood at $3,301 per ton in June 2023, dropping by -4.3% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 20% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,450 per ton. From November 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Spain ($3,729 per ton) and Ireland ($3,729 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($2,542 per ton) and Turkey ($3,178 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average waxes; artificial, prepared export price stood at $3,145 per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed moderate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 97% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,153 per ton in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Saudi Arabia.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Turkey amounted to +40.8% per year.
