World Production of Tuner Blocks
In 2022, approx. 358M units of tuner blocks were produced worldwide; growing by 2.3% on 2021 figures. In general, production, however, saw a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, global production attained the peak volume at 409M units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, tuner block production stood at $14.6B in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, recorded a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 1.4%. Global production peaked at $22.8B in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Production By Country
China (199M units) constituted the country with the largest volume of tuner block production, comprising approx. 56% of total volume. Moreover, tuner block production in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, the United States (42M units), fivefold. India (20M units) ranked third in terms of total production with a 5.5% share.

Import Prices By Country
In 2022, the average tuner block import price amounted to $43 per unit, surging by 7.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a drastic downturn. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $74 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($72 per unit), while Russia ($12 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

China dominates exports structure, accounting for 102M units, which was approx. 56% of total exports in 2022. Vietnam (16M units) held a 9% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the Netherlands (5.3%). Indonesia (5.7M units), Germany (4.4M units), the United States (3.3M units), Mexico (3.3M units), Hong Kong SAR (3.2M units), Poland (3.1M units), Tunisia (3M units) and Hungary (2.9M units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to tuner block exports from China stood at -1.6%. At the same time, Vietnam (+27.7%) and the Netherlands (+9.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +27.7% from 2012-2022. Hungary experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Vietnam (+8.4 p.p.), China (+6.1 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+3.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of the United States (-2.6 p.p.), Hong Kong SAR (-3.5 p.p.) and Mexico (-6.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($1.9B) remains the largest tuner block supplier worldwide, comprising 33% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($625M), with an 11% share of global exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with an 11% share.
In China, tuner block exports contracted by an average annual rate of -4.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+3.7% per year) and Vietnam (+17.4% per year).
Export Prices By Country
In 2022, the average tuner block export price amounted to $31 per unit, increasing by 4.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt shrinkage.
