Sugary Soft Drink Price in Israel (CIF) - 2022

The average sugary soft drink import price stood at $1.2 per litre in 2022, picking up by 9.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, sugary soft drink import price increased by +44.0% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 34%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Mexico ($1.2 per litre) and Poland ($1.2 per litre), while the price for Italy ($1.2 per litre) and Ukraine ($1.2 per litre) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sugary Soft Drink Price in Israel (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average sugary soft drink export price amounted to $0.9 per litre, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 19%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1 per litre in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were the United States ($0.9 per litre) and Belgium ($0.9 per litre), while the average price for exports to the UK ($0.9 per litre) and France ($0.9 per litre) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sugary Soft Drink Imports in Israel

In 2022, overseas purchases of sugary soft drinks decreased by -43.2% to 40M litres, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports faced a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 47%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 82M litres. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sugary soft drink imports reduced notably to $48M in 2022. In general, imports saw a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 24%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $76M in 2021, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at 1.6M litres in 2021, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, sugary soft drink exports fell remarkably to $1.2M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 31% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $1.5M in 2021, and then fell significantly in the following year.
