Stationery Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average stationery import price amounted to $5,022 per ton, rising by 9.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 31% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,207 per ton. From February 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($6,120 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($2,710 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Stationery Price in Australia (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average stationery export price amounted to $7,719 per ton, rising by 11% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 24% month-to-month. The export price peaked in August 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($12,664 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($5,652 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Nauru (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Stationery Imports in Australia
Stationery imports into Australia reduced modestly to 25K tons in 2022, which is down by -1.6% against the year before. Overall, imports showed a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 6.6% against the previous year.
