Sorghum Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average sorghum export price amounted to $297 per ton, picking up by 20% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 38% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $353 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Austria ($345 per ton) and Italy ($332 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($253 per ton) and Germany ($297 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+38.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average sorghum import price stood at $786 per ton in 2022, falling by -27.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,895 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
