Refined Coconut Oil Price in Nigeria (FOB) - 2022
The average refined coconut oil export price stood at $773 per ton in 2022, dropping by -73.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 332%. The export price peaked at $2,894 per ton in 2021, and then plummeted in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($1,481 per ton), while the average price for exports to Benin ($226 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Benin (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average refined coconut oil import price amounted to $6,210 per ton, reducing by -16.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 111%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $7,462 per ton in 2021, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($51,797 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($643 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, overseas shipments of refined coconut (copra) oil were finally on the rise to reach 3.3 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, showed a abrupt slump.
In value terms, refined coconut oil exports reduced remarkably to $2.6K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a precipitous setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 101% against the previous year.
