In October 2023, the average import price for tools, hand; other than household toolses amounted to $7,024 per ton, shrinking by -33.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 35% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $13,400 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for China.

In October 2023, the average export price for tools, hand; other than household toolses amounted to $14,970 per ton, reducing by -25.2% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a slight expansion from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for tools, hand; other than household toolses decreased by -50.8% against July 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 66% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $30,404 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was North Macedonia ($23,353 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($12,498 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to North Macedonia (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
