In November 2023, the average import price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped amounted to $5,216 per ton, with a decrease of -13.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 7.8% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,292 per ton. From October 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($6,831 per ton), while the price for Uruguay ($677 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uruguay (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
