The average export price for tobacco; other than "homogenised" or "reconstituted" or "smoking"s stood at $11,074 per ton in November 2023, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. In general, export price indicated mild growth from November 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, export price for tobacco; other than "homogenised" or "reconstituted" or "smoking"s decreased by -15.8% against September 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 97% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $13,148 per ton in September 2023; however, from October 2023 to November 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($51,278 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($5,488 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+36.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $23,629 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($118,512 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($2,352 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Serbia (+50.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, exports of tobacco; other than "homogenised" or "reconstituted" or "smoking"s fell rapidly to $245M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 610%.
