The average tin; waste and scrap export price stood at $14,906 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 158% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a prominent expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($47,333 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium stood at $14,893 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+33.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Exports of Tin; Waste and Scrap in Lithuania

In 2022, overseas shipments of tin; waste and scraps decreased by -7.8% to 7.6 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 74%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 8.2 tons, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, tin; waste and scrap exports surged to $113K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted significant growth. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
