The average import price for quartz; other than natural sandses stood at $129 per ton in August 2023, growing by 43% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 342% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $332 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Russia ($7,734 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($150 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+12.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $435 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($699 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($110 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
