In January 2024, the average export price for platinum; unwrought or in semi-manufactured formses amounted to $33.4M per ton, almost unchanged from the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 18% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $59.0M per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to January 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($38.5M per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK stood at $32.8M per ton.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (-3.6%).
