Price for Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water in Thailand (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average non-mineral or non-aerated water export price amounted to $219 per thousand litres, which is down by -8.6% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 19% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $239 per thousand litres in June 2023, and then shrank in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($563 per thousand litres), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($36.0 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cambodia (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Price for Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water in Thailand (CIF) - 2022
The average non-mineral or non-aerated water import price stood at $1 per litre in 2022, flattening at the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a perceptible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 212%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1.9 per litre in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($13 per litre), while the price for Australia ($0.4 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+35.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water in Thailand
Non-mineral or non-aerated water exports from Thailand surged to 211M litres in 2022, with an increase of 68% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 116% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, non-mineral or non-aerated water exports soared to $42M in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. Imports peaked at 810K litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-mineral or non-aerated water imports soared to $561K in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a temperate increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.9% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
