The average import price for mushrooms and truffles, other than of the genus "agaricus" stood at $4,325 per ton in 2022, declining by -20.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 72% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5,454 per ton in 2021, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($8,490 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,714 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+14.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
