The average export price for metals; palladium, unwrought or in powder forms stood at $42.1M per ton in July 2023, with a decrease of -7.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 3.5% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $55.6M per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Germany ($43.8M per ton) and the UK ($42.9M per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($41.5M per ton) and Japan ($42.0M per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (-3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average import price for metals; palladium, unwrought or in powder forms amounted to $18,187,557 per ton, reducing by -33.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 352% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $49,268,889 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($35,583,254 per ton), while the price for Japan ($6,671,814 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+42.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
