The average export price for iron ores and concentrates, non-agglomerated stood at $133 per ton in 2022, which is down by -8.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 67% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $163 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for China.
