Price for Glass Fibres and Wool in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2022
The average glass fibres and wool export price stood at $6,088 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -20.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 36%. The export price peaked at $11,652 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($15,356 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($3,119 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average glass fibres and wool import price amounted to $6,755 per ton, increasing by 170% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a slight contraction. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $8,397 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($18,437 per ton), while the price for China ($4,290 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Glass Fibres and Wool in the Netherlands
In 2022, glass fibres and wool exports from the Netherlands skyrocketed to 8K tons, with an increase of 46% against 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 156% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, glass fibres and wool exports soared to $48M in 2022.
