The average export price for fish; live, ornamental, other than freshwater stood at $29,135 per ton in 2022, surging by 32% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $31,751 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($71,259 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($17,209 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+9.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a deep slump. The import price peaked at $22,102 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Djibouti ($23,204 per ton), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($6,107 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+18.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
