The average export price for felt; whether or not impregnated, coated, covered or laminateds stood at $1,522 per ton in November 2023, with an increase of 8.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 an increase of 14% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in November 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,997 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($671 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the last eleven-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 22% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $7,539 per ton in March 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to November 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($10,093 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($2,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovenia (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas shipments of felt; whether or not impregnated, coated, covered or laminateds decreased by -0.1% to 59K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 10%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 59K tons, leveling off in the following year.
In value terms, exports of felt; whether or not impregnated, coated, covered or laminateds rose sharply to $75M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +19.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +69.4% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 31%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
