In November 2023, the average export price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) amounted to $1,396 per ton, waning by -9.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 89% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,655 per ton. From June 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($2,491 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($871 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Overall, import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +57.5% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
