The average import price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) stood at $2,326 per ton in 2022, increasing by 23% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a mild slump. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,903 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($3,516 per ton), while the price for Iran ($1,025 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) amounted to $3,005 per ton, picking up by 21% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 100% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,213 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Turkmenistan.
From 2013 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Kazakhstan amounted to -3.0% per year.
Imports of Ether-Alcohols and Their Halogenated, Sulphonated, Nitrated or Nitrosated Derivatives in Azerbaijan
In 2022, imports of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) into Azerbaijan reduced remarkably to 781 tons, shrinking by -15.7% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 149% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 927 tons, and then dropped notably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) expanded slightly to $1.8M in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 185% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
