Price for Copper; Refined, Unwrought, Billets in India (FOB) - 2023
The average copper; refined, unwrought, billets export price stood at $8,068 per ton in September 2023, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 10% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $8,562 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Finland ($10,413 per ton), while the average price for exports to China stood at $7,935 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+0.3%).

Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $10,823 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($14,037 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($8,844 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas shipments of copper; refined, unwrought, billetses decreased by -36% to 20K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth.
