In 2022, the average import price for cocoa; shells, husks, skins and other cocoa wastes amounted to $6,954 per ton, jumping by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 290% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $9,297 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($8,456 per ton), while the price for Peru stood at $6,343 per ton.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $8,283 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($4,224 per ton), while the average price for exports to Swaziland totaled $2,292 per ton.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Zambia (+97.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
