The average chocolate bar with filling export price stood at $3,621 per ton in July 2023, shrinking by -2.9% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $3,729 per ton in June 2023, and then declined slightly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($6,051 per ton), while the average price for exports to Venezuela ($2,033 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Libya (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average chocolate bar with filling import price amounted to $3,673 per ton, which is down by -34.4% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a slight expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, chocolate bar with filling import price decreased by -34.4% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 29% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $5,601 per ton in June 2023, and then declined notably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($7,496 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($2,529 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Chocolate Bar with Filling in Turkey
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of chocolate bars with fillings, when their volume decreased by -42.5% to 63K tons. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 141%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 110K tons, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
In value terms, chocolate bar with filling exports contracted notably to $184M in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 152% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $292M, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
