Price for Cereal Groats; Meal and Pellets in Ghana (FOB) - 2022
The average export price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses stood at $442 per ton in 2022, which is down by -16.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 416% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $872 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,258 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($194 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+22.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses amounted to $546 per ton, rising by 19% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 25%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $611 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($783 per ton), while the price for France ($537 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, overseas shipments of cereal groats; meal and pelletses increased by 89% to 192 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
