The average export price for cereal groats and meal; of maize (corn)s stood at $559 per ton in 2022, picking up by 24% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a deep contraction. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,111 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($757 per ton), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($415 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average import price for cereal groats and meal; of maize (corn)s amounted to $885 per ton, dropping by -5.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 89%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,005 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($1,853 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($713 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+8.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Cereal Groats and Meal; of Maize (Corn) in Russia
In 2022, approx. 4.9K tons of cereal groats and meal; of maize (corn)s were exported from Russia; falling by -10.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 109% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 5.5K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
