Price for Calendar and Calendar Block in Switzerland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average calendar and calendar block import price amounted to $8,619 per ton, declining by -21.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, enjoyed a noticeable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 72% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $24,617 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($26,688 per ton), while the price for Italy ($4,360 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+18.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average calendar and calendar block export price amounted to $14,551 per ton, dropping by -3.1% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, calendar and calendar block export price increased by +26.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average export price increased by 41%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $15,015 per ton in 2021, and then reduced slightly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($39,879 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($7,052 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+9.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Calendar and Calendar Block in Switzerland
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of calendars and calendar blocks decreased by -15.4% to 1.7K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 62% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2K tons, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, calendar and calendar block imports contracted to $17M in 2022. In general, imports showed a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 1.9%.

In value terms, calendar and calendar block exports declined to $4.1M in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 4.3% against the previous year.
