In January 2024, the average export price for artificial staple fibres, not carded, combed or otherwise processed for spinning amounted to $1,582 per ton, falling by -3.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a slight decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2023 an increase of 2.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,908 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to January 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In January 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices to Vietnam ($1,901 per ton) and China ($1,812 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,407 per ton) and Turkey ($1,433 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average import price for artificial staple fibres, not carded, combed or otherwise processed for spinning amounted to $2,787 per ton, jumping by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw slight growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 45%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,980 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($6,280 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($2,353 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In general, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.6% over the last three years.
