The average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $997 per ton in March 2022, flattening at the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2021 an increase of 17% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,215 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to March 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was China ($2,946 per ton), while the price for Russia ($855 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $2,885 per ton in 2022, dropping by -11.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 127% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,914 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($5,057 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($1,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+22.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
