In November 2023, the average import price for aluminium; alloys, wire, maximum cross-sectional dimension exceeding 7mms amounted to $3,681 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 30% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,705 per ton. From April 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($6,054 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($2,880 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In November 2023, the average export price for aluminium; alloys, wire, maximum cross-sectional dimension exceeding 7mms amounted to $4,015 per ton, shrinking by -3.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 7.7% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,354 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Taiwan (Chinese) ($4,363 per ton) and China ($4,273 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($3,059 per ton) and Spain ($3,837 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
