The average export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows stood at $4,681 per ton in December 2023, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2023 an increase of 2.3% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $5,253 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In December 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to the UK ($6,117 per ton) and Canada ($5,272 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($4,105 per ton) and Serbia ($4,213 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In December 2023, the average import price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $5,705 per ton, reducing by -39.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2023 when the average import price increased by 51% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,418 per ton, and then contracted rapidly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($14,855 per ton), while the price for Cyprus ($1,708 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 301K tons of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows were exported from Turkey; picking up by 6.1% on the year before. Overall, exports saw significant growth. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +54.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 27%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
