In November 2023, the average import price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $5,279 per ton, with an increase of 7.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 11% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5,674 per ton. From February 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($5,896 per ton), while the price for Uzbekistan ($3,575 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows stood at $5,405 per ton in November 2023, declining by -4.3% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a mild slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 24% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $7,118 per ton. From June 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Romania ($7,104 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($3,926 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Aluminium; Alloys, Bars, Rods and Profiles, Other than Hollow in Lithuania
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows decreased by -5.4% to 17K tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +44.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 49%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 18K tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, imports of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows surged to $93M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In 2022, overseas shipments of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows decreased by -15.1% to 4.4K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 89% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 5.1K tons, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, exports of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows expanded sharply to $25M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 84%. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
