Preserved Sweet Corn Price in Italy (CIF) - 2023
The average preserved sweet corn import price stood at $1,887 per ton in June 2023, dropping by -7.5% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,041 per ton in May 2023, and then dropped in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,284 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($1,294 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Sweet Corn Price in Italy (FOB) - 2023
The average preserved sweet corn export price stood at $3,425 per ton in June 2023, picking up by 1.7% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a prominent increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.3% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, preserved sweet corn export price increased by +47.7% against February 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 52% month-to-month. The export price peaked in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($4,333 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($1,199 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Sweet Corn Imports in Italy
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of sweet corn prepared or preserved, when their volume increased by 18% to 21K tons. Overall, imports, however, saw a perceptible downturn.
In value terms, preserved sweet corn imports expanded significantly to $31M in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild slump.
