Plywood Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In September 2022, the average plywood import price amounted to $623 per cubic meter, rising by 13% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a moderate expansion from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, plywood import price increased by +12.7% against August 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2022 an increase of 123% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $807 per cubic meter. From March 2022 to September 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,088 per cubic meter), while the price for Vietnam ($443 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plywood Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
The average plywood export price stood at $696 per cubic meter in 2022, growing by 19% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 40%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,189 per cubic meter. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($1,326 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($209 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plywood Imports in Singapore
In 2022, the amount of plywood imported into Singapore dropped to 232K cubic meters, reducing by -9.5% against 2021. In general, imports, however, showed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 119%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 256K cubic meters, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, plywood imports shrank to $114M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.1% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 72% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $131M, and then declined in the following year.

Plywood Exports in Singapore
In 2022, the amount of plywood exported from Singapore fell remarkably to 16K cubic meters, declining by -36.2% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, exports, however, posted a tangible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 100%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 26K cubic meters, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
In value terms, plywood exports reduced rapidly to $11M in 2022. In general, exports showed a pronounced decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 54% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $15M, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
